Site Selection Considerations – What Model are you Installing?

The shape and size of the spa / hot tub that you are planning to install may influence the location of the installation.

This is why it may be important to determine what spa / hot tub model you are going to purchase first. If there is a specific location that you want to install the spa / hot tub, it is recommended that you measure and record the total area.

Keep in mind that you may require room to access cover latches and locks. You may also require clearance for a cover remover to operate and may need room to position an entry step.

Site Selection Considerations – When are you Installing?

Many installations require some kind of ground and electrical preparation and many require very little. Although some require little or no preparation, it will be necessary to consider what will need to be prepared in advance of the spa / hot tub arriving at your home.

In northern climates, it may be restrictive to prepare a base for the spa / hot tub if needed. It may also be challenging to complete any electrical work if needed.

In order to ensure a smooth and trouble free installation, it is always recommended that any ground preparation and electrical work be performed prior to the delivery and backyard transfer of the spa / hot tub. This is why it is important to take into consideration when (or what time of year) you are going to install a spa / hot tub.

  • Orientation – Make Sure you Have a Great View

Site Selection Considerations – Why are you Installing?

Why you are going to install a spa / hot tub may very well influence where you install it. For example, if you are planning on installing a spa / hot tub to add enjoyment and fun to your swimming pool, you may want to consider placing unit relatively close to your pool.

If you planning on purchasing a spa / hot tub to relax and promote better sleep, it is likely best to install your spa / hot tub near a close and convenient access point to the home. Deciding why you are going to purchase a spa / hot tub may also influence what model you ultimately choose.

Be sure to be realistic with this decision as it may be a key driver in many aspects of your overall spa / hot tub installation plan and long term satisfaction with the product that you purchase.
